Bentheim Castle

Bentheim Castle is the largest hilltop castle in northwestern Germany, receiving mention for the first time in 1050. Today, it is in the possession of the Counts and Princes of Bentheim and Steinfurt for more than five centuries.

The following conditions until further notice at the castle:

  • Guided tours are not available until August 31, 2020.
  • Keep at least 1.5 meters away from other people.
  • Wear mouth and nose protection in the buildings, there is no mouth protection obligation in the courtyard.
  • Disinfect your hands on the dispensers.
  • Avoid shaking hands.
  • Please follow the instructions of the castle staff.
  • The walkway is a “one-way street”.
  • The lawn is accessible.
