Bentheim Castle

Bentheim Castle is the largest hilltop castle in northwestern Germany, receiving mention for the first time in 1050. Today, it is in the possession of the Counts and Princes of Bentheim and Steinfurt since more than five centuries.


Bentheim Castle is opened daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (last admission: 5:15 p.m.).

On September 20, 2023, it's World Children's Day! That's why on this day, all children up to 18 years old are allowed to explore Burg Bentheim for free.
